Shared Education Primary 3 with All children's I P S Uses and Rules for Users of the Forest

On Thursday 27th February, the Primary 3s visited Donard Park with their friends from All Children's IPS to learn about the very many uses of the local forests, such as recreation (soccer, sports, walking, mountain biking, etc.), education (with the guides learning about the red squirrels, hedgehogs, other forest animals, trees, leaves and seeds, etc.) and commercial (tree planting, wood manufacturing, etc.)

After a short walk to All Children's school, lunch and a play together, it was down to work and discussion about possible Rules of the Forest. Having been split up into their tree groups, it was a case of brainstorming rules walkers, dog walkers, hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, sports people, tree cutters, etc should follow. These were whittled down individually to 9 which were put into ranking order of importance in a Diamond 9. Finally, if there was time a poster showing their most important or Golden Rule was made.
