Santa Run

Santa Run

Friday 11th December will see the first ever St Mary's Christmas Santa Fun Run. A familiar sight at this time of year in all the local parks and towns, our school is following suit. Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus restrictions, we cannot host a family event. However, following strict Covid 19 protocols, we will host a run that will see all the primary school classes and nursery sessions walk and run around a track within the school grounds.

Each group will be timetabled and given the opportunity to walk or run so many laps in the allocated time. There will be a very substantial seasonal medal for all finishers regardless of time or distance covered as well as a drink of juice and a piece of shortbread as he or she crosses the finish line.

Everyone should wear seasonal clothing, whether that is an elf t - shirt, Santa hat, Christmas pyjamas, hair bobbles, etc.

Pictured is Mr Darragh Brownlee and Primary 6 children Ellen Cope, Erinn Donnelly, Tomos Dewitt, Kayla Storey, Conn Mc Cann and Caolan Scott. It promises to be a very excting and colourful event !

Please make sure that the girls and boys have enough warm clothes on as this is usually a very cold time of year. Despite the fact many will heat up as they run, extra layers can be taken off. It is much harder to put clothes on that are not there !
